Here are some fresh takes on old school cocktails, or great drink classic recipes with a twist for 2019.

 

1. Moscow Mule

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Tito’s Vodka, 4oz. Ginger Beer, Splash of Lime Juice
Prep: Pour vodka and ginger beer over a glass of ice. Add lime juice and stir.
Serve: Garnish with a wedge of lime.
Bonus Points: Pour into a Trendy Copper Mug

 

2. Lavender Gin and Tonic

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. London Dry Gin, 5 oz. Tonic Water, 1TBSP Lavender Syrup,
Splash of Lime Juice
Prep: Pour gin and tonic over ice. Gently stir in lavender syrup and lime juice.
Serve: Highball glass with a slice of lime.
Bonus Points: Add a sprig of lavender for garnish.

 

3. Lycheetini

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Absolut Vodka, 1 oz. Peach Schnapps, 1 oz. White
Grape/Cranberry Juice, 1 oz. Lychee Juice (from can of lychees), 1 whole
lychee.
Prep: In cocktail shaker pour vodka, peach schnapps, and juices over ice.
Shake well.
Serve: Strain cocktail into chilled martini glass, add one whole lychee.
Bonus Points: Substitute the grape or cranberry juice for a fruity white
wine.

 

4. Rosemary Citrus Bourbon

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Jim Beam Bourbon, 1 oz. Lemon Juice, 1.5 oz. Simple
Syrup (Rosemary flavor if available).
Prep: Pour bourbon, juice and syrup into shaker over ice. Shake well.
Serve: Ice and cocktail into highball or tumbler glass. Garnish with sprig of
rosemary.
Bonus Points: Rub lemon rind around rim of glass before serving.

 

5. Peach Margarita

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila, .5 oz. Dekuyper Triple Sec,
.5 oz. Lime Juice, .5 oz. Peach Juice, 1 oz. Peach Puree.
Prep: Pour tequila, triple sec, juice and puree over ice. Shake well.
Serve: Strain cocktail and pour over ice into chilled margarita glass.
Bonus Points: Sugar the rim with brown sugar. Add a slice of peach for
garnish.

 


6. Blue Coconut

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Three Olives Vodka, 4 oz. Dekuyper Blue Curaçao, 2
oz. Pineapple Juice, 4 oz. Coconut Cream
Prep: Blend ingredients and 8 oz. of ice until smooth consistency.
Serve: Pour into hurricane glass.
Bonus Points: Garnish with coconut flakes and umbrella pick.

 

 

7. Cotton Candy Cocktail

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. SKYY Vodka, 1.5 oz. Tonic Water, 3 oz. Fluffy Cotton
Candy
Prep: Fill martini glass with fluffy cotton candy.
Serve: Pour chilled vodka over cotton candy (cotton candy will melt). Add
tonic water
Bonus Points: Substitute the tonic water for champagne or rose. Serve in
champagne glass.

 


8. Citrus Basil Manhattan

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Maker’s Mark Bourbon, .5 oz. Simple Syrup, .5 oz
Lemon Juice, a few splashes Bitters, a few Basil Leaves.
Prep: Stir together bourbon, vermouth and lemon juice in mixing glass
over ice.
Serve: Place basil leaves into coupe glass. Strain and pour bourbon
mixture overtop.
Bonus Points: Substitute Simple Syrup for Sweet Vermouth

 

 

9. Guava Cocktail

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Smirnoff Vodka, 3 oz. Ginger Beer or Ginger Ale, 1.5
oz. Guava Juice, Splash of Lime Juice, Mint Leaves.
Prep: Pour vodka and guava juice into highball glass over ice and stir. Add
ginger beer or ginger ale, lime juice and mint leaves.
Bonus Points: Add a few bitters or a splash of Guava Nectar.

 

 

10. Chocolate Martini

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Ketel One Vodka, 1 oz. Chocolate Liqueur, 1 oz.
Skimmed or Nut Milk
Prep: Combine ingredients in shaker over ice. Shake well.
Serve: Strain cocktail into chilled martini glass.
Bonus Points: Drizzle chocolate sauce or chocolate liqueur into glass first,
than pour liquid over top for a marble effect.

 

 

11. Jalapeno Cocktail

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, 3 oz. Pineapple Juice,
Splash of Lime Juice, 1 tsp Sugar, Slices of Jalapeno Pepper, no seeds.
Prep: Muddle lime juice, sugar and jalapeno in mixing glass. Add rum,
pineapple juice, ice and stir.
Serve: In highball glass or tumbler over ice.
Bonus Points: Garnish rim with sugar and add a lime wedge.

 

 

12. Tropical Rum Punch

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Bacardi Gold Rum, 2 oz. Pineapple Juice, 2 oz.
Orange Juice, 1 oz. Cranberry Juice, 1 tsp Grenadine, Splash of Lemon
Juice.
Prep: Mix rum and juices in shaker over ice. Shake well. Stir in grenadine
and lemon juice.
Serve: Strain cocktail into hurricane or poco grande glass.
Bonus Points: Garnish with maraschino cherries and orange slice on
toothpick over rim.

 

 

13. Sangria

Ingredients: 3 oz. Sweet Red Wine, 1 oz. Christian Brothers Brandy, 2 oz.
Orange Juice, Splash of Lemon Juice, 3 TBSP variety of chopped fruits
(apples, oranges, peaches, lemon, cherries), 2 oz. Sparkling water.
Prep: Mix wine, brandy, juice, lemon juice, and fruits. Refrigerate for a few
hours.
Serve: Pour sangria over ice into cosmopolitan glass, add sparkling water
and a scoop of chopped fruit for garnish.
Bonus Points: Quadruple the recipe, make a pitcher full and let it chill
overnight.

 


14. Coffee Cream Cocktail

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Hennessy Cognac, 1 oz. Port Wine, 1 Egg, .5 oz.
Simple Syrup.
Prep: Shake ingredients together over ice.
Serve: Strain cocktail into a chilled port glass.
Bonus Points: Garnish with a dash of ground nutmeg, serve with dessert.

 

 

15. Apple Pie Cocktail

Ingredients: 2 oz. Fireball Whisky, 2 oz. SKYY Vanilla Vodka, 5 oz. Hot
Apple Cider or Apple Juice
Prep: Add whiskey, vodka and apple cider or juice into shaker. Shake well.
Serve: Pour ingredients into tumbler. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
Bonus Points: Dip glass rim into crushed graham crackers.
