Miami is an eclectic city. From iconic vintage Miami Beach with palm trees, pink plastic
flamingos and retro architecture to Brickell’s skyscraper buildings, high end shopping malls and
rooftop terraces, Miami has everything. So does its’ bar scene. Head out for a drink one night
and you can find colorful cocktails complete with toothpick umbrellas, classy top shelf drinks on
rooftop terraces, and basically every other fathomable concoction in between.
So does its’ bar scene. Head out for a drink one night and you can find colorful cocktails complete with toothpick umbrellas, classy top shelf drinks on rooftop terraces, and basically every other fathomable concoction in between. We love that Miami has a little bit of everything and have taken it upon ourselves to check out all the options.
Here’s a list of some of our favorite Miami bars to grab drinks with friends and have a good time.
While we, of course, prefer having the alcohol delivered right to our door, we hope you’ll check
out these locations and let us know what you think!
1. The Wharf- The Wharf is an open air multi use space right on the Historic Miami River in
downtown. The area is centered around a large covered outdoor bar with waterfront
views and often a live dj. The rest of the space around the bar hosts a variety of food
trucks, another outdoor bar and some open areas for a game of corn hole or to watch
boats pass by from adirondack chairs. The Wharf has a great happy hour with $1 draft
beers and always has deals on food. We love The Wharf for bringing a fun tropical vibe
to the heart of downtown.
2. The Tank Brewing- With a perfect central Miami location and an extensive list of great
beers, The Tank Brewing is one of our top choice breweries in Miami. The large indoor
and outdoor space and plenty of comfortable seating make it comfortable and cozy for
an afternoon beer or a fun night out. The Tank Brewing even hosts events and live
music, so check the website before you head over to see what specials are running.
3. Sugar- Hard to see from ground level, and hard to know about without some local savvy,
is an impressive rooftop terrace bar in the heart of Brickell. Sugar, located on the 40th
floor of the East Hotel is a super chic lux spot with 180° views of Miami Beach, Biscayne
Bay and Brickell Key. Even the elevator ride up is blinged out with 3-D lights! Have a
specialty mixed drink or a sip a top shelf liquor with a skyline view. Bonus, a trip to Sugar
is a two for one! Just walk across the hallway and find another great spot, Tea Room.
We love to catch the golden hour sunlight at Sugar, then head home and call Tipsee to
deliver our favorite spirits so the party can go all night long.
4. Wynwood Yard- Wynwood Yard is a real grass roots Miami locale. This large multiuse
outdoor space with a temporary permit from the City of Miami, is definitely one to check
out before it goes. The spot hosts a variety of creative and startup food trucks, including
some vegan options. Wynwood Yard has a large central bar and a stage space for live
music which is used every week for excellent local and international shows. It’s even
child friendly. Lots of events and pop-ups to keep you entertained while you get your
drink on!
5. Monty’s- This classic watering hole in Coconut Grove just along the harbor is a lot of fun.
It’s a huge spot with a large outdoor tiki bar. You’ll find traditional drinks and cocktails,
plus a fun tropical vibe and the setting to match. Monty’s is great for day drinking. We
recommend having a cold frozen drink, then heading to Regatta Park for sunset. From
the park, give Tipsee a ring! We’ll deliver a cold 6-pack of your favorite brew and a bottle
of your dates favorite vintage right to your picnic blanket within an hour!
